ROLLOUT

The developed D!AS products will be rolled out across markets, starting with the EU10 markets (incl. Austria, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Russia, Spain and Sweden) and VWG brands (incl. VW PC, AUDI, SEAT, SKODA and VW CV).

ABOUT

During the D!AS market visits in several countries (EU10 and North America), the D!AS rollout team presented the D!AS program and its products to various business and IT market representatives. In around 20 workshops, the rollout team came across significant interest in the D!AS vision and confirmed markets’ willingness to implement the D!AS products in the upcoming years.

How it works

The D!AS Rollout process follows a five step approach with concrete activities per step:

Warning: file_get_contents(): Unable to find the wrapper ".https" - did you forget to enable it when you configured PHP? in /var/www/html/pages/rollout.php on line 144

Warning: file_get_contents(.https://media.r2d.vwapps.run/webfiles/rollout/svg/hiw.svg): Failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/html/pages/rollout.php on line 144

ROLLOUT GOVERNANCE

In a market the D!AS rollout organization is divided into a central and a local level.

Warning: file_get_contents(.https://media.r2d.vwapps.run/webfiles/rollout/svg/gov.svg): Failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/html/pages/rollout.php on line 167

The local team plays a major role in implementing the D!AS products. It is therefore highly recommended to develop an internal structure which is exclusively responsible for the D!AS implementation. The team should consist of suitably qualified team members from both the business (incl. marketing, sales) as well as the IT side (incl. IT Architects, DMS).

ROLLOUT SUPPORT CONCEPT

The D!AS Rollout support concept is based on three levels, ensuring fast & reliable issue solving. It differentiates between product- and integration specific issues. Nonetheless, the Product Rollout Manager remains the go-to-person for (operative) rollout issues.

D!AS IT CHECKLIST

The IT Checklist is a collection of requirements that should be fulfilled on Market side, in order to implement and later on productively use particular D!AS Products.

  • Overview of the IT requirements which have to be met to use the D!AS Products
  • Requirements are grouped by Importer and Dealer

“Bandwidth and data traffic”
“Application specific requirements”
“Support”
“Maintenance”

..and much more.

A first indication of what could or should be modified in the market’s current IT landscape, to enable introduction and further usage of a particular D!AS Product.

It’s not a complete set of all possible requirements.
In the planning process with a particular market there may be additional requirements that are not covered by this general IT-Checklist.

The current version is based on the European Region and thus does not contain specific requirements that need to be met in order to fulfill specific local legal requirements (eg. local hosting requirements).

Virtual NSC / Importer Meeting

The D!AS Rollout & Launch Team conducted a two day virtual Meet & Greet Conference with the NSC and independent importers as an alternative to a face-to-face onsite workshop due to the current extraordinary circumstances of Covid-19 and travel restrictions surrounding our business.

An aggregated total of 16 European importers (117 people) participated in the session.

The Rollout Team is about to approach markets to schedule individual calls with the respective Importer personnel from wave 1 in terms of aligning the upcoming Rollout steps.

Horizontal analysis

The Horizontal Analysis aims to identify initial market demand regarding D!AS offerings (esp. with regards to prioritized products: ASID, APOS NF, ASP, Elsa2Go, PPSO, R-Safe and Lead Inbox)

The Rollout Team visited the EU10 markets and conducted a 2-days workshop in order to gather specific insights of the markets IT – and Systemlandscape.

Goal: Identification of “white spots” by mapping D!AS capabilities with local solutions (in-house and 3rd party providers)

The Interviews have been set up with market responsible field experts by using a comprehensive questionnaire categorized in following topic:

  • Capability related questions (e.g. readiness, integration)
  • Non-capability related questions (e.g. time to market)
  • Strategic questions (e.g. local DMS & sourcing strategy)
  • GDPR questions (e.g. data ownership/location)

What is your experience with the horizontal analysis?

The Horizontal analysis was conducted in two days - A tough task for both sides. We as a business couldn’t invite the whole company to be part of the meetings, that’s why we had to prepare ourselves before the workshop started. We had to gather as much information as we were able to. Following that approach, the business representatives were able to answer many questions and present the current processes with needed quality and level of detail. On the other hand, the D!AS team had to incorporate a huge amount of descriptions how After Sales is working in Poland and then portray that on paper.

Do you think, the results of the Horizontal Analysis were beneficial for your business activities internally?

The main, internal benefit that comes out of that analysis is stabilization & spreading the knowledge among the business units and IT Department. It was a great opportunity for us to understand each other’s point of view. Finally we came with the conclusion that polish market is full oriented on the API approach and we defined the D!AS products that would be needed in near future to support After Sales more and more.

Do you think, the Horizontal Analysis supported the collaboration with D!AS?

For sure the analysis tightened our collaboration between NSC & OEM. It is essential to be in touch and crucial to understand the needs & conditions from both sides. Conversation is always a good solution.

D!AS Workshop at the Commercial Vehicles After Sales Conference

From September 30th to October 1st 2019, more than 150 participants from over 35 markets gathered in Hannover at the International Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles After Sales Conference. During the Conference opening session, Imelda Labbé (Head of Volkswagen Group After Sales) outlined the three key topics of the event Digital After Sales, E-Mobility and Car Connectivity and also pointed out new business possibilities such as car sharing. The D!AS Team has conducted four workshops in two days, where the program was introduced together with rollout processes and plans, followed by the future vision represented by the After Sales Process. The participants have been actively engaged in the open and constructive discussion within the topic relevant workshops. The workshop outputs showed that the D!AS program with its digital products meets the requirements of the importers. However, there is a strong need for continuous updates on current developments.

One of the participants, Jan Špinar, Head of Porsche After Sales Czech Republic commented on the D!AS workshop: “During the workshop we got to know the current status of the D!AS program. Even though there are several challenges such as DMS Integration and legal aspects, I am convinced that D!AS is a right way forward. We need to keep working together with OEMs and importers to make sure that our dealers and customers will get the expected added value out of D!AS.”

Michael Dobrkovský from the D!AS Rollout team appreciated the valuable feedback from the workshop participants and confirmed, that the D!AS Team will continue the dialogue with the importers. Furthermore, he stated that the DMS integration as well as the rollout of the Group Retail Portal and Strong authentication is addressed with highest priority.

Onboarding Workshop India

The Rollout team successfully continues the onboarding of the new markets to the D!AS Program. One of the next focus markets is India. Therefore, an Onboarding Workshop was conducted in the local headquarter in Mumbai taking place from 19 to 21 August 2019. The colleagues from IT and Business department of all brands, and presentatives of both, the D!AS team and the Indian importer, got together to get a common understanding about possibilities for the D!AS Program in the Indian market. Firstly, the Indian colleagues presented the current status of After Sales Digital Services within the market and brands, as well as the relevant IT system landscape.

“We have seen that the Indian market has a lot of local solutions which differ from brand to brand. The harmonization of the IT landscape is going to be a challenging task for the Indian market.”
- Heiko Thoms, Head of the D!AS Rollout, commented on the market readiness

Afterwards, the D!AS Team introduced the program, demonstrated respective products and explained the rollout concept. Timo Pietrusiak, the rollout manager responsible for the Indian market, added that the rollout of the Group Retail Portal will be a priority until the end of this year, to provide the basis of the upcoming D!AS products. The colleagues from Volkswagen Group India has experienced two days filled with digital product presentations and decided to implement several products.

“We are highly interested in various D!AS Products which enhance the digital handling of the car servicing and meet the needs of our dealers and customers. Therefore, we put now high priority on the rollout activities of the selected products.”
- Justin Nolte, Group Aftersales Director of Volkswagen Group India
