ASID

The After Sales ID (ASID) is a flexible, product centric classification criterion, which enables service systems to exchange and display VIN specific and context sensitive information. The ASID improves the user journey by allowing service advisors and service technicians to find the relevant information immediately using the Quick View Toolbar (ElsaPro and Elsa2Go) or Quick View Button (ETKA).

ABOUT

The ASID connects service information across service media in the backend. This allows service advisors and technicians to find relevant information immediately and context sensitive without being an expert on all the systems.

The ASID is not replacing existing processes, but enables the connection of the service information within via the Quick View Toolbar (ElsaPro and Elsa2Go) or Quick View Button (ETKA).

By using the service content of Repair Manuals, Fitting Locations, Current Flow Diagram and Parts, more than 1500 ASID objects have been created, and mapped accordingly. As a result, the ASID describes a comprehensive product selection in terms of covered parts.

  • Easy to use
  • Immediately available through regular system updates
  • Reduction of complexity while browsing service literature
  • Collection and display of vin-specific service information
  • ASID connects service information across a range of service systems (ETKA, ElsaPro etc.)
  • Featuring VW PC, VW CV, Audi, SEAT, Skoda

The services of ASID enable workshop systems to collect vin-specific content with one click in one view

ROLLOUT

Prerequisites

  • Importer confirms sending VIN and Dealer ID to servers in Ireland
  • Dealer is in possession of licenses for ETKA and ElsaPro
  • Internet connection

Technical Rollout

  • The ASID functions are rolled out with the regular system updates of the integrating systems (ETKA and ElsaPro) – no technical rollout of the ASID function itself is necessary.
  • For the Quick View Toolbar in ElsaPro, importers have to activate their dealerships in the ElsaPro admin interface.
  • The ASID rollout team provides importers with training and information materials to communicate the new ASID functions to the dealers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions that might be interesting for importers:

Do I really have to activate all dealerships individually in the ElsaPro Administration, or is there another way to activate all at the same time?

Unfortunately, there is no other way then selecting all dealerships individually.

When trying to open parts information via the Quick View Toolbar in ElsaPro I receive an error message. What is the reason?

You need to test with a real (!) Org-ID. The Org-ID, which is used to log-in to ElsaPro, needs to be an ID, which is released in KVPS. If this is not the case, parts can’t be displayed via the Quick View Toolbar. This KVPS-ID needs to be assigned to an ETKA ID. On dealer level this issue should not occur as all dealers should have an active Org-ID which is assigned to ETKA.

Questions that might be interesting for dealers:

Do I need ETKA on my computer to access parts information via the Quick View Toolbar in ElsaPro?

No, there only needs to be an ETKA license assigned to the Org-ID which you use for ElsaPro.

Is the Quick View toolbar in ElsaPro only available with a certain ETKA version?

Quick View is available in local installations of ETKA since version ETKA 8.2, which is rolled out worldwide. It is also available via the web version of ETKA (ETKAw).

The icons in the Toolbar are greyed out. What is the reason, what can I do?

There can be several reasons, why some or all icons stay greyed out.

  • If all icons stay greyed out, a slow internet connection can be the reason. In this case you need to wait some seconds to see, if the icons become active / clickable.
  • If you switched to an info media via the toolbar – for example to fitting locations – you first need to select an item there (for example in clicking the mother list code) to get connected content to this selected item.
  • Quick View is currently only available for a limited set of models (please see slides attached to our previous mail). The function is being adjusted continuously for further models and content.
  • Quick View is not able to deliver connected content for every item yet . Based on editorial differences between brands and models it may happen, that for example not any subchapter of a repair manual is connected to a part information. This lack of connection shall decrease continuously by cross-brand alignments and quality measures.

Does the Quick View Toolbar also deliver information about fitting parts?

No, fitting parts are not connected via the ASID yet. This is planned for the future, the product team is working on a concept for this.

The icon in the Toolbar for labor positions from APOS NF is always inactive – why is that the case?

The Quick View Toolbar will show labor positions from the successor of APOS – APOS NF – as soon as APOS NF goes live. As long as this is not the case, the content can’t be shown via the Toolbar. With the next update of ElsaPro (coming in March) the icon will disappear from the Toolbar and only return, as soon as APOS NF is live.

I see numerous results when selecting an icon in the Toolbar. What is the reason?

In the current version, it may happen that numerous results are shown in the Quick View Toolbar: This is quite normal as there can be more than one connection to an information from a certain item. Though, we are working on the reduction and better identification of results accordingly.
